Situated within the beautiful setting of Bellahouston Park and adjacent to magnificent Victorian Walled Gardens, the House for an Art Lover represents one of Glasgow’s most popular visitor attractions.  Designed in 1901 by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, and opened to the public in 1996, the House is a truly unique venue, ideally suited for corporate hospitality or indeed any event which would benefit from such a prestigious setting, including weddings, anniversaries and birthday parties.

Visitors to the House can view the impressive suite of Mackintosh rooms and enjoy an audio-visual presentation exploring the genius of the architect.

The Art Lovers’ Shop combines a diverse range of Mackintosh-inspired gifts with a unique selection of contemporary products showcasing the work of new designers and local crafts people.  The wide range of gifts can also be purchased on-line by visiting the House for an Art Lover’s web site at www.houseforanartlover.co.uk

The contemporary Art Lovers’ Café has an exciting and innovative menu.  The surrounding art exhibitions ensure visitors experience the very best combination of culture and cuisine.  And when the weather permits, the outdoor Cafe Terrace is one of the Southside's favourite lunchtime venues.

Each year an exciting programme of music events takes place at the House.  Sunday music recitals are the perfect way to spend a relaxing afternoon with friends and family.  Visitors are entertained with a selection of music ranging from classical piano to jazz guitar, performed in the dazzling Music Room.  The Dinner Concert Series combines excellent music with fine dining - every month talented musicians entertain the audience with lively performances.  The evening ends with a delicious meal in the atmospheric Dining Room, just as Charles Rennie Mackintosh would have intended!
