Step inside the world-famous Willow Tea Rooms designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh in 1903, for entrepreneur Miss Kate Cranston. The Willow remains open today to welcome visitors keen to experience the splendour of a bygone era and take tea just as they did in the same rooms and interiors 100 years ago.

SAUCHIEHALL STREET TEA ROOM

Reborn in 1983 in their original location, the Room de Luxe was recreated to the original design and was followed by the Gallery, recreated in 1996.

The Room de Luxe, with its silver furniture and leaded mirror friezes, was the jewel in the crown of Mackintosh's 20 year partnership with Kate Cranston.

While the Room de Luxe is bright and feminine, the Gallery is darker and more masculine.

BUCHANAN STREET TEA ROOM

Located in the building adjacent to Miss Cranston's original Buchana Tea Rooms, the White Dining room and Chinese Room designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh for the nearby Ingram Street Tea rooms have been recreated.

The White Dining Room is filled with elegant high backed chairs, leaded glass and bright interior, while the Chinese Room is dark and atmospheric.  These interiors have been refreshed and restyled in 2008.
